ישראל היא לנצח Israel is Forever

Let’s go back in time—not thousands of years, just a single decade, when Israel vacated Gaza and began the process of forming a two-nation state. They left behind buildings, settlements, and uprooted their own citizens.

Israel also left behind 3000 greenhouses, already producing luscious fruits suitable for export and providing a much needed income for the fledgling Palestinian nation. Additionally, the borders were opened to encourage commerce between the neighbors. Israel desired to live in peace, side by side with Gaza.

Gaza was provided the freedom and infrastructure to thrive independently, but they chose to tear down those 3000 greenhouses and elect Hamas as their ruling authority.

So during the past decade instead of building a prosperous nation, Hamas has constructed a military zone. Perhaps you’ve heard about the rocket launchers placed in Gaza's schools, hospitals and private homes.

The missiles fired into Israel (now at least 2000) are mostly stopped by the Iron Dome anti-missile defense system. Yet it achieves its purpose: retaliation from Israel. It has cost innocent Palestinian lives and subsequent sympathy for their cause, even though Israel sent out advance warnings to allow the innocents time to escape.

As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained, “We’re using missile defense to protect our civilians and they’re using their civilians to protect their missiles.”

Take time to research for yourself. The pictures of suffering are real and yes, it needs to stop, but why is it happening? Hamas shouts, raison d’être (eradicate Israel and the Jews). If 2000 rockets landed on US soil, what would we do? We’d do what Israel is doing—we'd defend ourselves.

A missionary in Israel reported hearing “Death to the Jews” blaring over loudspeakers near the border. Then later, as he approached the Western Wall in Jerusalem he heard, ישראל היא לנצח (Israel is Forever).

Let us remember that Israel remains our strongest ally in a hostile region. God promised a blessing on those who support Israel. While men may break their promises, God does not.

“May those who bless you be blessed and those who curse you be cursed.”  Numbers 24:9
