The High Cost of Free Porn

God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.

Each summer I’m blessed with carefree days with my grandson. At ten, he’s busier than before. Soccer, chess, and basketball camps dot his calendar. Playtime with friends, summer reading, and approved video games fill his days. Like most kids, he’s computer savvy and can connect to a larger world I never imagined at his age.

That can be scary. What’s worse is that one in three 10-year-olds access porn. This is the worst news for any parent or grandparent. Recently health experts gathered in Washington DC to discuss the epidemic of pornography. Children are the youngest victims. Now over half of 12-15 year olds are accessing online porn. And it’s warping our next generation.

According to sexual trauma expert Mary Anne Layden, Sex is casual, recreational, adversarial and it is non-intimate. In fact, you don't even need to know your partner because sex with strangers is the best and most intense time for sex…”

Having a grandson that could be exposed to porn’s vile and pervasive web of destruction sobers me. We’re losing the battle folks. Sex has become a drug and our kids are becoming addicted at a brain-development stage that can alter their minds and change their future.

Teach kids that porn—like any narcotic, can lead to a deplorable addiction. It’s a sad reality that summertime, or anytime, isn’t as carefree anymore.

The High Cost of Free Porn:

According to the Journal of American Medical Association, the more porn people watch the less gray matter—brain connectivity and activity they have.

  • 70% of 18-24 aged men access porn monthly.
  • 1/3 lose their jobs due to porn addictions
  • 56% of divorces had one partner addicted to porn
  • The US produces 89% of the world’s porn websites
  • Porn is a 13 billion dollar industry.
  • 83% of kids accidently access porn
